March 2019: Wes C.

Congratulations Wes on being our March Athlete of the Month. Wes came to almost a year ago and since day one has put in the work to become a better person. You can normally find Wes in our 6am class and will make it a point to ask anyone and everyone about if they’ve seen It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or the latest episode of the Bachelor. However, don’t let his goofy, outgoing personality fool you. Each workout he is pushing himself to set the top time and cheer others along the way.

Wes recently set a goal of getting his first bar muscle ups and within two weeks he achieved his first one. Only one week later his muscles up were put to the test in CrossFit Open WOD 19.4, where was able to do 8 of them at the very end of the workout. This hard work and determination has led him to be the Athlete of the Month.

Thank you for the opportunity to coach you on a daily basis - Coach Justin

What is your favorite thing about the gym?

Wes - The community and accountability! It’s great to have an authentic group of people who push you to be the best version of yourself.

Wes - I can do muscle ups now!

Wes - The CrossFit Open Draft party! Or the Christmas party...

Wes - Gas station hot dogs - delishhhhh

What would you say to someone who is thinking about starting?

Wes - Start today. Fully commit, go in 100%. You don’t have to go everyday, or RX every workout, but if you just show up your life will begin to change. It’s that “thing” that you feel like you’re missing in your life.

What drives you?

Wes - I like to win and I like to compete. In CrossFit I find a place that I can compete against others and myself everyday. I’m also driven by health. I want to do my best to take care of the body the good Lord has given me! Also, my dad is really into CrossFit and he is 62 so I can’t let him show me up...

What is you biggest fitness goal right now?

Wes - I am looking to lower my body fat % by 3% in the next 6 months. and I’d really like to finish Memorial Day Murph in under 50 mins!
